Delete Your Account

Delete from the App
The easiest way to delete your account is directly from the Gather app:
- Open the Gather app
- Go to your Profile tab
- Tap the Settings icon (gear)
- Scroll down to Account
- Tap Delete Account
- Confirm your decision
Request Deletion via Email
If you cannot access the app, you can request account deletion by email:
Subject: Account Deletion Request
Include: Your registered email address
We will verify your identity and process your request within 7 business days.
What Gets Deleted
When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed:
- Your profile information (name, email, avatar)
- All videos you have uploaded
- Comments and reactions you have made
- Your group memberships
- Device registrations and push notification tokens
- Subscription information
Recovery Window
7-Day Grace Period: After requesting deletion, you have 7 days to change your mind. Simply log back into the app to cancel the deletion.
After the grace period, your account and all associated data will be permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
Data Retention
Some information may be retained for legal and compliance purposes:
- Transaction records (for tax and accounting requirements)
- Anonymised analytics data
- Legal correspondence
This retained data cannot be used to identify you and is kept only as required by law.
Creating a New Account
After deletion, you may create a new account using the same email address after a 30-day cooling-off period. Your previous data will not be restored; the new account will start fresh.
